There is a blocking operation when a task is in !TASK_RUNNING. In dvb_frontend_get_event, wait_event_interruptible is called; the condition is dvb_frontend_test_event(fepriv,events). In dvb_frontend_test_event, down(&fepriv->sem) is called. However, wait_event_interruptible would put the process to sleep, and down(&fepriv->sem) may block the process.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-833"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=b8c75e4a1b325ea0a9433fa8834be97b5836b946","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/07/msg00030.html","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00027.html","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/6HIEOLEOURP4BJZMIL7UGGPYRRB44UDN/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/AOATNX5UFL7V7W2QDIQKOHFFHYKWFP4W/"],"products":["debian:debian_linux","fedoraproject:fedora","linux:linux_kernel","netapp:h410c_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:05.473481323+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-31084","score":0.0041,"percentile":0.35242,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
