{"cve":"CVE-2023-30846","nvd":{"published":"2023-04-26T21:15:09.380","modified":"2026-06-17T05:55:45.680","status":"Modified","description":"typed-rest-client is a library for Node Rest and Http Clients with typings for use with TypeScript. Users of the typed-rest-client library version 1.7.3 or lower are vulnerable to leak authentication data to 3rd parties. The flow of the vulnerability is as follows: First, send any request with `BasicCredentialHandler`, `BearerCredentialHandler` or `PersonalAccessTokenCredentialHandler`. Second, the target host may return a redirection (3xx), with a link to a second host. Third, the next request will use the credentials to authenticate with the second host, by setting the `Authorization` header. The expected behavior is that the next request will *NOT* set the `Authorization` header. The problem was fixed in version 1.8.0. There are no known workarounds.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-522"],"references":["https://github.com/microsoft/typed-rest-client/commit/f9ff755631b982ee1303dfc3e3c823d0d31233e8","https://github.com/microsoft/typed-rest-client/security/advisories/GHSA-558p-m34m-vpmq","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230601-0008/","https://github.com/microsoft/typed-rest-client/commit/f9ff755631b982ee1303dfc3e3c823d0d31233e8","https://github.com/microsoft/typed-rest-client/security/advisories/GHSA-558p-m34m-vpmq"],"products":["microsoft:typed-rest-client"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:05.473481323+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-30846","score":0.02224,"percentile":0.82709,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-558p-m34m-vpmq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-558p-m34m-vpmq","summary":"Potential leak of authentication data to 3rd parties","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:53.370569525Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"typed-rest-client","purl":"pkg:npm/typed-rest-client","ranges":["<1.8.0"],"fixed":["1.8.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
