Users of the Snowflake JDBC driver were vulnerable to a command injection vulnerability. An attacker could set up a malicious, publicly accessible server which responds to the SSO URL with an attack payload. If the attacker then tricked a user into visiting the maliciously crafted connection URL, the user’s local machine would render the malicious payload, leading to a remote code execution. The vulnerability was patched on March 17, 2023 as part of Snowflake JDBC driver Version 3.13.29. All users should immediately upgrade the Snowflake JDBC driver to the latest version: 3.13.29.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-77","CWE-20"],"references":["https://community.snowflake.com/s/article/JDBC-Driver-Release-Notes","https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowflake-jdbc/security/advisories/GHSA-4g3j-c4wg-6j7x","https://community.snowflake.com/s/article/JDBC-Driver-Release-Notes","https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowflake-jdbc/security/advisories/GHSA-4g3j-c4wg-6j7x"],"products":["snowflake:snowflake_jdbc"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:05.473481323+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-30535","score":0.01668,"percentile":0.76769,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4g3j-c4wg-6j7x","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4g3j-c4wg-6j7x","summary":"Snowflake JDBC vulnerable to command injection via SSO URL authentication","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:53.502001923Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"net.snowflake:snowflake-jdbc","purl":"pkg:maven/net.snowflake/snowflake-jdbc","ranges":["<3.13.29"],"fixed":["3.13.29"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
