{"cve":"CVE-2023-28445","nvd":{"published":"2023-03-24T00:15:15.653","modified":"2026-06-17T05:47:45.280","status":"Modified","description":"Deno is a runtime for JavaScript and TypeScript that uses V8 and is built in Rust. Resizable ArrayBuffers passed to asynchronous functions that are shrunk during the asynchronous operation could result in an out-of-bound read/write. It is unlikely that this has been exploited in the wild, as the only version affected is Deno 1.32.0. Deno Deploy users are not affected. The problem has been resolved by disabling resizable ArrayBuffers temporarily in Deno 1.32.1. Deno 1.32.2 will re-enable resizable ArrayBuffers with a proper fix. As a workaround, run with `--v8-flags=--no-harmony-rab-gsab` to disable resizable ArrayBuffers.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-125","CWE-787"],"references":["https://github.com/denoland/deno/pull/18395","https://github.com/denoland/deno/releases/tag/v1.32.1","https://github.com/denoland/deno/security/advisories/GHSA-c25x-cm9x-qqgx","https://github.com/denoland/deno/pull/18395","https://github.com/denoland/deno/releases/tag/v1.32.1"],"products":["deno:deno","deno:deno_runtime","deno:serde_v8"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:48.383111019+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-28445","score":0.00971,"percentile":0.61935,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-c25x-cm9x-qqgx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-c25x-cm9x-qqgx","summary":"Deno improperly handles resizable ArrayBuffer","modified":"2023-11-08T04:12:11.261571Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"Deno","purl":"pkg:cargo/Deno","ranges":[">=1.32.0 <1.32.1"],"fixed":["1.32.1"]},{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"serde_v8","purl":"pkg:cargo/serde_v8","ranges":[">=0.87.0 <0.88.0"],"fixed":["0.88.0"]},{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"deno_runtime","purl":"pkg:cargo/deno_runtime","ranges":[">=0.102.0 <0.103.0"],"fixed":["0.103.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
