{"cve":"CVE-2023-27599","nvd":{"published":"2023-03-15T21:15:09.247","modified":"2026-06-17T05:45:33.433","status":"Modified","description":"OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4, when the function `append_hf` handles a SIP message with a malformed To header, a call to the function `abort()` is performed, resulting in a crash. This is due to the following check in `data_lump.c:399` in the function `anchor_lump`. An attacker abusing this vulnerability will crash OpenSIPS leading to Denial of Service. It affects configurations containing functions that make use of the affected code, such as the function `append_hf`. This issue has been fixed in versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/commit/cb56694d290530ac308f44b453c18120b1c1109d","https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/security/advisories/GHSA-qvj2-vqrg-f5jx","https://opensips.org/pub/audit-2022/opensips-audit-technical-report-full.pdf","https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/commit/cb56694d290530ac308f44b453c18120b1c1109d","https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/security/advisories/GHSA-qvj2-vqrg-f5jx"],"products":["opensips:opensips"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:41.955480748+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-27599","score":0.00971,"percentile":0.61938,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
