Prior to versions 3.1.8 and 3.2.5, OpenSIPS crashes when a malformed SDP body is sent multiple times to an OpenSIPS configuration that makes use of the `stream_process` function. This issue was discovered during coverage guided fuzzing of the function `codec_delete_except_re`. By abusing this vulnerability, an attacker is able to crash the server. It affects configurations containing functions that rely on the affected code, such as the function `codec_delete_except_re`. This issue has been fixed in version 3.1.8 and 3.2.5.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/commit/dd051f8ed5ae3347fb1d556ced3c97822c9d8450","https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/security/advisories/GHSA-3ghx-j39m-cw4f","https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/commit/dd051f8ed5ae3347fb1d556ced3c97822c9d8450","https://github.com/OpenSIPS/opensips/security/advisories/GHSA-3ghx-j39m-cw4f"],"products":["opensips:opensips"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:41.955480748+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-27596","score":0.00738,"percentile":0.54535,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
