This is due to missing nonce validation in the 'ajax_edit_contact' function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers to receive the auto login link via shortcode and then modify the assigned user to the auto login link to elevate verified user privileges via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.0},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/groundhogg/tags/2.7.9.8/admin/contacts/contacts-page.php#L542","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/groundhogg/tags/2.7.9.8/includes/shortcodes.php#L99","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2914493/groundhogg/tags/2.7.10/admin/contacts/contacts-page.php","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/9bf472f1-5980-48ee-aa10-aad19b6f2456?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/groundhogg/tags/2.7.9.8/admin/contacts/contacts-page.php#L542"],"products":["groundhogg:groundhogg"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:18.424950729+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-2736","score":0.00396,"percentile":0.33811,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
