The wrong portion of an RFC2822 header is identified as the value of the addr-spec. In some applications, an attacker can bypass a protection mechanism in which application access is granted only after verifying receipt of e-mail to a specific domain (e.g., only @company.example.com addresses may be used for signup). This occurs in email/_parseaddr.py in recent versions of Python.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-20","CWE-1286"],"references":["http://python.org","https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/102988","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/4ZAEFSFZDNBNJPNOUTLG5COISGQDLMGV/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/75DTHSTNOFFNAWHXKMDXS7EJWC6W2FUC/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/ARI7VDSNTQVXRQFM6IK5GSSLEIYV4VZH/"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","netapp:active_iq_unified_manager","netapp:ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility","python:python"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:05.473481323+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-27043","score":0.02527,"percentile":0.84898,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
