In the github repo for Cocos Engine the `web-interface-check.yml` was subject to command injection. The `web-interface-check.yml` was triggered when a pull request was opened or updated and contained the user controllable field `(${{ github.head_ref }} – the name of the fork’s branch)`. This would allow an attacker to take over the GitHub Runner and run custom commands (potentially stealing secrets such as GITHUB_TOKEN) and altering the repository. The workflow has since been removed for the repository. There are no actions required of users.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-77","CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/cocos/cocos-engine/blob/2362df28a4b3016dbda804899041279701929728/.github/workflows/web-interface-check.yml","https://github.com/cocos/cocos-engine/commit/6d06aefa2684e20da79e7ceaf41f728c1a8d7a41","https://securitylab.github.com/advisories/GHSL-2023-027_Engine_for_Cocos_Creator/","https://github.com/cocos/cocos-engine/blob/2362df28a4b3016dbda804899041279701929728/.github/workflows/web-interface-check.yml","https://github.com/cocos/cocos-engine/commit/6d06aefa2684e20da79e7ceaf41f728c1a8d7a41"],"products":["cocos:cocos-engine"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:48.383111019+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-26493","score":0.02907,"percentile":0.86978,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
