This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the 'admin_page_display' function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete or change plugin settings, import demo data, modify or delete Directory Kit related posts and terms via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Partial patches were made avilable in versions 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 but the issue was not fully patched until 1.2.2","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpdirectorykit/tags/1.1.8/admin/class-wpdirectorykit-admin.php#L170","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&new=2905795%40wpdirectorykit%2Ftrunk&old=2905046%40wpdirectorykit%2Ftrunk&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/8a7a6da3-d67c-42b3-8826-7e7fc9b938b4?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpdirectorykit/tags/1.1.8/admin/class-wpdirectorykit-admin.php#L170","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&new=2905795%40wpdirectorykit%2Ftrunk&old=2905046%40wpdirectorykit%2Ftrunk&sfp_email=&sfph_mail="],"products":["wpdirectorykit:wp_directory_kit"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:39:14.809778102+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-2279","score":0.00291,"percentile":0.21716,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
