{"cve":"CVE-2022-51026","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-22T19:17:30.883","modified":"2026-10-23T19:57:42.660","status":"Deferred","description":"Bytebase 0.12.0 before 1.0.1 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to log in as any user. The flaw stems from trusting client-supplied GitLab provider configuration in the POST /api/auth/login/GITLAB_SELF_HOST endpoint. Attackers can set instanceUrl to a server they control that returns an active user with a chosen email. Bytebase then issues session tokens for that principal, letting attackers impersonate existing users including the Owner or create new members.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":9.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-290"],"references":["https://github.com/bytebase/bytebase","https://github.com/bytebase/bytebase/blob/1.0.0/server/auth.go#L79-L93","https://github.com/bytebase/bytebase/commit/d69e682243b25b51dd52912a26e2f259b5f3db2d","https://github.com/bytebase/bytebase/pull/834","https://github.com/bytebase/bytebase/releases/tag/1.0.1"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:35.584907681+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-51026","score":0.00613,"percentile":0.49047,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5r3p-6rj5-7937","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5r3p-6rj5-7937","summary":"Bytebase vulnerable to Improper Authentication","modified":"2026-10-23T10:55:57.079312361Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/bytebase/bytebase","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/bytebase/bytebase","ranges":["<1.0.1"],"fixed":["1.0.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
