However, if iget the boot loader inode, allows a bad\ninode to be returned, because the inode may not be initialized. This\nmechanism can be used to bypass some checks and cause panic. To solve this\nproblem, we add a special iget flag EXT4_IGET_BAD. Only with this flag\nwe'd be returning bad inode from ext4_iget(), otherwise we always return\nthe error code if the inode is bad inode.(suggested by Jan Kara)","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2142dfa1de61e25b83198af0308ec7689cca25d3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/488a5c2bf7543c3cd3f07a025f2e62be91599430","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/63b1e9bccb71fe7d7e3ddc9877dbdc85e5d2d023","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/c0a738875c2e9c8c3366d792f8bf7fe508d5e5a5","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f725b290ed79ad61e4f721fee95a287892d8b1ad"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:11:26.888974865+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-50485","score":0.00173,"percentile":0.06774,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
