This works because there are\nno cases where an operation needs a large RPC Call message and a\nlarge RPC Reply at the same time.\n\nOnce an RPC Call has been received, svc_process() updates\nsvc_rqst::rq_res to describe the part of rq_pages that can be\nused for constructing the Reply. This means that the send buffer\n(rq_res) shrinks when the received RPC record containing the RPC\nCall is large.\n\nA client can force this shrinkage on TCP by sending a correctly-\nformed RPC Call header contained in an RPC record that is\nexcessively large. The full maximum payload size cannot be\nconstructed in that case.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-787"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1868332032eccbab8c1878a0d918193058c0a905","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2007867c5874134f2271eb276398208070049dd3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2be9331ca6061bc6ea32247266f45b8b21030244","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/401bc1f90874280a80b93f23be33a0e7e2d1f912","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/ea4c3eee0fd72fcedaa238556044825639cd3607"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:10:08.713834912+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-50410","score":0.00429,"percentile":0.37206,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
