This would lead to use-after-free because both\nof the existing callers invoke qlcnic_dcb_get_info() on the obtained\npointer, which is potentially freed at that point.\n\nPropagate errors from qlcnic_dcb_enable(), and instead free the dcb\npointer at callsite using qlcnic_dcb_free(). This also removes the now\nunused qlcnic_clear_dcb_ops() helper, which was a simple wrapper around\nkfree() also causing memory leaks for partially initialized dcb.\n\nFound by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with the SVACE\nstatic analysis tool.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/13a7c8964afcd8ca43c0b6001ebb0127baa95362","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/36999236f0b12d5de21a6f40e93b570727b9ceb2","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/513787ff9a331b461115e8a145a983d650a84fcb","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8df1dc04ce0e4c03b51a756749c250a9cb17d707","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8f97eeb02a553cdc78c83a0596448a370e1518c4"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:08:41.295252406+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-50288","score":0.00162,"percentile":0.05373,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
