So, all readers and writers need some basic protection to\navoid load/store-tearing.\n\nThis patch changes proc_douintvec_minmax() to use READ_ONCE() and\nWRITE_ONCE() internally to fix data-races on the sysctl side. For now,\nproc_douintvec_minmax() itself is tolerant to a data-race, but we still\nneed to add annotations on the other subsystem's side.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":4.7},"cwes":["CWE-362"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2d3b559df3ed39258737789aae2ae7973d205bc1","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/40e0477a7371d101c55b69d9c32a7a1ed82ab5ea","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b60eddf98b9716651069dfda296c91311a7a6293","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e3a2144b3b6bf9ecafd91087c8b8b48171ec19df"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:59:48.811064707+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-49640","score":0.00177,"percentile":0.0731,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
