In the sanity\ncheck as formulated now, this will create an integer\noverflow, defeating the sanity check. Both offset\nand offset + len need to be checked in such a manner\nthat no overflow can occur.\nAnd those quantities should be unsigned.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/49909c9f8458cacb5b241106cba65aba5a6d8f4c","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/69560efa001397ebb8dc1c3e6a3ce00302bb9f7f","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7b737e47b87589031f0d4657f6d7b0b770474925","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8d2b1a1ec9f559d30b724877da4ce592edc41fdc","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9957fbf34f52a4d8945d1bf39aae400ef9a11246"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:54:16.205165117+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-48938","score":0.00213,"percentile":0.11596,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
