The mySQL JDBC driver in particular is known to be vulnerable to this class of attack. As a result an application using Apache Jena SDB can be subject to RCE when connected to a malicious database server. Apache Jena SDB has been EOL since December 2020 and users should migrate to alternative options e.g. Apache Jena TDB 2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2022/11/14/5","https://lists.apache.org/thread/mc77cdl5stgjtjoldk467gdf756qjt31","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2022/11/14/5","https://lists.apache.org/thread/mc77cdl5stgjtjoldk467gdf756qjt31"],"products":["apache:jena_sdb"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:08.729216836+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-45136","score":0.01658,"percentile":0.76632,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g2qw-6vrr-v6pq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g2qw-6vrr-v6pq","summary":"Apache Jena vulnerable to Deserialization of Untrusted Data","modified":"2024-08-02T11:02:56.203248Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.jena:jena-sdb","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.jena/jena-sdb","ranges":["<=3.17.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
