{"cve":"CVE-2022-41878","nvd":{"published":"2022-11-10T23:15:10.740","modified":"2026-06-17T05:03:57.943","status":"Modified","description":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. In versions prior to 5.3.2 or 4.10.19, keywords that are specified in the Parse Server option `requestKeywordDenylist` can be injected via Cloud Code Webhooks or Triggers. This will result in the keyword being saved to the database, bypassing the `requestKeywordDenylist` option. This issue is fixed in versions 4.10.19, and 5.3.2. If upgrade is not possible, the following Workarounds may be applied: Configure your firewall to only allow trusted servers to make request to the Parse Server Cloud Code Webhooks API, or block the API completely if you are not using the feature.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-1321","CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-xprv-wvh7-qqqx","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-xprv-wvh7-qqqx"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:08.729216836+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-41878","score":0.00951,"percentile":0.61305,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xprv-wvh7-qqqx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xprv-wvh7-qqqx","summary":"Parse Server vulnerable to Prototype Pollution via Cloud Code Webhooks or Cloud Code Triggers","modified":"2023-12-06T01:02:37.826625Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<4.10.19"],"fixed":["4.10.19"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=5.0.0 <5.3.2"],"fixed":["5.3.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
