This issue affects Pig Provider versions prior to 4.0.0. It also impacts any Apache Airflow versions prior to 2.3.0 in case Pig Provider is installed (Pig Provider 4.0.0 can only be installed for Airflow 2.3.0+). Note that you need to manually install the Pig Provider version 4.0.0 in order to get rid of the vulnerability on top of Airflow 2.3.0+ version.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/27644","https://lists.apache.org/thread/yxnfzfw2w9pj5s785k3rlyly4y44sd15","https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/27644","https://lists.apache.org/thread/yxnfzfw2w9pj5s785k3rlyly4y44sd15"],"products":["apache:airflow","apache:apache-airflow-providers-apache-pig"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:28.463369388+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-40189","score":0.04158,"percentile":0.90878,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rmf2-pwfq-h75j","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rmf2-pwfq-h75j","summary":"OS Command Injection in Apache Airflow","modified":"2026-10-26T21:30:04.163640168Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"apache-airflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/apache-airflow","ranges":["<2.3.0"],"fixed":["2.3.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-270","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-270","summary":"OS Command Injection in Apache Airflow","modified":"2026-07-01T20:22:49.250924Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"apache-airflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/apache-airflow","ranges":["<2.3.0"],"fixed":["2.3.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
