Versions prior to 4.10.18, and prior to 5.3.1 on the 5.X branch, are vulnerable to Remote Code Execution via prototype pollution. An attacker can use this prototype pollution sink to trigger a remote code execution through the MongoDB BSON parser. This issue is patched in version 5.3.1 and in 4.10.18. There are no known workarounds.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-1321"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-prm5-8g2m-24gg","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-prm5-8g2m-24gg"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:08.729216836+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-39396","score":0.38717,"percentile":0.98581,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-prm5-8g2m-24gg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-prm5-8g2m-24gg","summary":"Remote code execution via MongoDB BSON parser through prototype pollution","modified":"2023-12-06T01:02:33.974497Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<4.10.18"],"fixed":["4.10.18"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=5.0.0 <5.3.1"],"fixed":["5.3.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
