There is a potential vulnerability in Traefik managing HTTP/2 connections. A closing HTTP/2 server connection could hang forever because of a subsequent fatal error. This failure mode could be exploited to cause a denial of service. There has been a patch released in versions 2.8.8 and 2.9.0-rc5. There are currently no known workarounds.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-755","CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/traefik/traefik/releases/tag/v2.8.8","https://github.com/traefik/traefik/releases/tag/v2.9.0-rc5","https://github.com/traefik/traefik/security/advisories/GHSA-c6hx-pjc3-7fqr","https://github.com/traefik/traefik/releases/tag/v2.8.8","https://github.com/traefik/traefik/releases/tag/v2.9.0-rc5"],"products":["traefik:traefik"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:36:05.460296998+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-39271","score":0.0136,"percentile":0.71734,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-c6hx-pjc3-7fqr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-c6hx-pjc3-7fqr","summary":"Traefik HTTP/2 connections management could cause a denial of service","modified":"2023-11-08T04:10:17.311008Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/traefik/traefik/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/traefik/traefik/v2","ranges":["<2.8.8"],"fixed":["2.8.8"]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/traefik/traefik/v2","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/traefik/traefik/v2","ranges":[">=2.9.0-rc1 <2.9.0-rc5"],"fixed":["2.9.0-rc5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
