Bots creating using py-cord version 2.0.0 are vulnerable to remote shutdown if they are added to the server with the `application.commands` scope without the `bot` scope. Currently, it appears that all public bots that use slash commands are affected. This issue has been patched in version 2.0.1. There are currently no recommended workarounds - please upgrade to a patched version.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-862","CWE-284"],"references":["https://github.com/Pycord-Development/pycord/pull/1568","https://github.com/Pycord-Development/pycord/security/advisories/GHSA-qmhj-m29v-gvmr","https://github.com/Pycord-Development/pycord/pull/1568","https://github.com/Pycord-Development/pycord/security/advisories/GHSA-qmhj-m29v-gvmr"],"products":["pycord_development:pycord"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:34:18.502168378+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-36024","score":0.00797,"percentile":0.56494,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qmhj-m29v-gvmr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qmhj-m29v-gvmr","summary":"Bots using py-cord as Discord API wrapper are vulnerable to shutdowns through remote code execution","modified":"2024-11-26T18:46:54Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"py-cord","purl":"pkg:pypi/py-cord","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.0.1"],"fixed":["2.0.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2022-43146","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2022-43146","summary":"","modified":"2024-11-25T22:42:10.994127Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"py-cord","purl":"pkg:pypi/py-cord","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.0.1"],"fixed":["2.0.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
