Authenticated users issuing specially crafted `SETRANGE` and `SORT(_RO)` commands can trigger an integer overflow, resulting with Redis attempting to allocate impossible amounts of memory and abort with an out-of-memory (OOM) panic. The problem is fixed in Redis versions 7.0.8, 6.2.9 and 6.0.17. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/redis/redis/commit/1ec82e6e97e1db06a72ca505f9fbf6b981f31ef7","https://github.com/redis/redis/releases/tag/6.0.17","https://github.com/redis/redis/releases/tag/6.2.9","https://github.com/redis/redis/releases/tag/7.0.8","https://github.com/redis/redis/security/advisories/GHSA-mrcw-fhw9-fj8j"],"products":["redis:redis"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:34.931465858+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-35977","score":0.14045,"percentile":0.9656,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
