This flaw allows a local user to crash or potentially escalate their privileges on the system. It is in bigben_probe of drivers/hid/hid-bigbenff.c. The reason is incorrect assumption - bigben devices all have inputs. However, malicious devices can break this assumption, leaking to out-of-bound write.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-787","CWE-401"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/char-misc.git/commit/?h=char-misc-next&id=9d64d2405f7d30d49818f6682acd0392348f0fdb","https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=945a9a8e448b65bec055d37eba58f711b39f66f0","https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=fc4ef9d5724973193bfa5ebed181dba6de3a56db","https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/char-misc.git/commit/?h=char-misc-next&id=9d64d2405f7d30d49818f6682acd0392348f0fdb","https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=945a9a8e448b65bec055d37eba58f711b39f66f0"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:37:08.729216836+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-3577","score":0.00263,"percentile":0.18125,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
