{"cve":"CVE-2022-33747","nvd":{"published":"2022-10-11T13:15:10.093","modified":"2026-06-17T04:49:22.027","status":"Modified","description":"Arm: unbounded memory consumption for 2nd-level page tables Certain actions require e.g. removing pages from a guest's P2M (Physical-to-Machine) mapping. When large pages are in use to map guest pages in the 2nd-stage page tables, such a removal operation may incur a memory allocation (to replace a large mapping with individual smaller ones). These memory allocations are taken from the global memory pool. A malicious guest might be able to cause the global memory pool to be exhausted by manipulating its own P2M mappings.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":3.8},"cwes":["CWE-404"],"references":["http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2022/10/11/5","http://xenbits.xen.org/xsa/advisory-409.html","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/TJOMUNGW6VTK5CZZRLWLVVEOUPEQBRHI/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/XWSC77GS5NATI3TT7FMVPULUPXR635XQ/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/YZVXG7OOOXCX6VIPEMLFDPIPUTFAYWPE/"],"products":["debian:debian_linux","fedoraproject:fedora","xen:xen"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:36:05.460296998+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-33747","score":0.00285,"percentile":0.21054,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
