{"cve":"CVE-2022-3176","nvd":{"published":"2022-09-16T14:15:09.713","modified":"2026-06-17T04:59:00.553","status":"Modified","description":"There exists a use-after-free in io_uring in the Linux kernel. Signalfd_poll() and binder_poll() use a waitqueue whose lifetime is the current task. It will send a POLLFREE notification to all waiters before the queue is freed. Unfortunately, the io_uring poll doesn't handle POLLFREE. This allows a use-after-free to occur if a signalfd or binder fd is polled with io_uring poll, and the waitqueue gets freed. We recommend upgrading past commit fc78b2fc21f10c4c9c4d5d659a685710ffa63659","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit?h=linux-5.4.y&id=fc78b2fc21f10c4c9c4d5d659a685710ffa63659","https://kernel.dance/#fc78b2fc21f10c4c9c4d5d659a685710ffa63659","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/11/msg00001.html","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230216-0003/","https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5257"],"products":["debian:debian_linux","linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:35:14.992143698+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-3176","score":0.00299,"percentile":0.22673,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
