{"cve":"CVE-2022-31480","nvd":{"published":"2022-06-06T17:15:11.030","modified":"2026-06-17T04:45:31.597","status":"Modified","description":"An unauthenticated attacker could arbitrarily upload firmware files to the target device, ultimately causing a Denial-of-Service (DoS). This vulnerability impacts products based on HID Mercury Intelligent Controllers LP1501, LP1502, LP2500, LP4502, and EP4502 which contain firmware versions prior to 1.302 for the LP series and 1.296 for the EP series. The attacker needs to have a properly signed and encrypted binary, loading the firmware to the device ultimately triggers a reboot.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-425"],"references":["https://www.corporate.carrier.com/product-security/advisories-resources/","https://www.corporate.carrier.com/product-security/advisories-resources/"],"products":["carrier:lenels2_lnl-4420_firmware","carrier:lenels2_lnl-x2210_firmware","carrier:lenels2_lnl-x2220_firmware","carrier:lenels2_lnl-x3300_firmware","carrier:lenels2_lnl-x4420_firmware","carrier:lenels2_s2-lp-1501_firmware","carrier:lenels2_s2-lp-1502_firmware","carrier:lenels2_s2-lp-2500_firmware","carrier:lenels2_s2-lp-4502_firmware","hidglobal:ep4502_firmware","hidglobal:lp1501_firmware","hidglobal:lp1502_firmware","hidglobal:lp2500_firmware","hidglobal:lp4502_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:32:39.174919249+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-31480","score":0.00979,"percentile":0.62215,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
