{"cve":"CVE-2022-31138","nvd":{"published":"2022-07-11T14:15:08.427","modified":"2026-06-17T04:44:53.110","status":"Modified","description":"mailcow is a mailserver suite. Prior to mailcow-dockerized version 2022-06a, an extended privilege vulnerability can be exploited by manipulating the custom parameters regexmess, skipmess, regexflag, delete2foldersonly, delete2foldersbutnot, regextrans2, pipemess, or maxlinelengthcmd to execute arbitrary code. Users should update their mailcow instances with the `update.sh` script in the mailcow root directory to 2022-06a or newer to receive a patch for this issue. As a temporary workaround, the Syncjob ACL can be removed from all mailbox users, preventing changes to those settings.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/ly1g3/Mailcow-CVE-2022-31138","https://github.com/mailcow/mailcow-dockerized/commit/d373164e13a14e058f82c9f1918a5612f375a9f9","https://github.com/mailcow/mailcow-dockerized/releases/tag/2022-06a","https://github.com/mailcow/mailcow-dockerized/security/advisories/GHSA-vx9w-h33p-5vhc","https://github.com/ly1g3/Mailcow-CVE-2022-31138"],"products":["mailcow:mailcow\\"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:33:44.859608815+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-31138","score":0.0328,"percentile":0.8844,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
