{"cve":"CVE-2022-30636","nvd":{"published":"2024-07-02T20:15:05.173","modified":"2026-06-17T04:43:59.593","status":"Deferred","description":"httpTokenCacheKey uses path.Base to extract the expected HTTP-01 token value to lookup in the DirCache implementation. On Windows, path.Base acts differently to filepath.Base, since Windows uses a different path separator (\\ vs. /), allowing a user to provide a relative path, i.e. .well-known/acme-challenge/..\\..\\asd becomes ..\\..\\asd. The extracted path is then suffixed with +http-01, joined with the cache directory, and opened. Since the controlled path is suffixed with +http-01 before opening, the impact of this is significantly limited, since it only allows reading arbitrary files on the system if and only if they have this suffix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://go.dev/cl/408694","https://go.dev/issue/53082","https://pkg.go.dev/vuln/GO-2024-2961","https://go.dev/cl/408694","https://go.dev/issue/53082"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-30636","score":0.00637,"percentile":0.5056,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GO-2024-2961","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2024-2961","summary":"Limited directory traversal vulnerability on Windows in golang.org/x/crypto","modified":"2026-06-16T12:29:17.908083296Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"golang.org/x/crypto","purl":"pkg:golang/golang.org/x/crypto","ranges":["<0.0.0-20220525230936-793ad666bf5e"],"fixed":["0.0.0-20220525230936-793ad666bf5e"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
