A weakness in JavaEZ 1.6 allows force decryption of locked text by unauthorized actors. The issue is NOT critical for non-secure applications, however may be critical in a situation where the highest levels of security are required. This issue ONLY affects v1.6 and does not affect anything pre-1.6. The vulnerability has been patched in release 1.7. Currently, there is no way to fix the issue without upgrading.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-326","CWE-327","CWE-328"],"references":["https://github.com/JavaEZLib/JavaEZ/releases/tag/1.7","https://github.com/JavaEZLib/JavaEZ/security/advisories/GHSA-67fj-6w6m-w5j8","https://github.com/JavaEZLib/JavaEZ/releases/tag/1.7","https://github.com/JavaEZLib/JavaEZ/security/advisories/GHSA-67fj-6w6m-w5j8"],"products":["javaez_project:javaez"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:31:59.322382750+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-29249","score":0.00747,"percentile":0.54876,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-67fj-6w6m-w5j8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-67fj-6w6m-w5j8","summary":"Reversible One-Way Hash in io.github.javaezlib:JavaEZ","modified":"2023-11-08T04:09:12.229368Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"io.github.javaezlib:JavaEZ","purl":"pkg:maven/io.github.javaezlib/JavaEZ","ranges":[">=1.6 <1.7"],"fixed":["1.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
