{"cve":"CVE-2022-26943","nvd":{"published":"2023-10-19T10:15:09.963","modified":"2026-06-17T04:36:12.320","status":"Modified","description":"The Motorola MTM5000 series firmwares generate TETRA authentication challenges using a PRNG using a tick count register as its sole entropy source. Low boottime entropy and limited re-seeding of the pool renders the authentication challenge vulnerable to two attacks. First, due to the limited boottime pool entropy, an adversary can derive the contents of the entropy pool by an exhaustive search of possible values, based on an observed authentication challenge. Second, an adversary can use knowledge of the entropy pool to predict authentication challenges. As such, the unit is vulnerable to CVE-2022-24400.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-338"],"references":["https://tetraburst.com/","https://tetraburst.com/"],"products":["motorola:mtm5400_firmware","motorola:mtm5500_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:40:11.519948003+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-26943","score":0.00357,"percentile":0.29424,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
