In affected versions, the return of `<iface>.returns_int128()` is not validated to fall within the bounds of `int128`. This issue can result in a misinterpretation of the integer value and lead to incorrect behavior. As of v0.3.0, `<iface>.returns_int128()` is validated in simple expressions, but not complex expressions. Users are advised to upgrade. There is no known workaround for this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/vyperlang/vyper/commit/049dbdc647b2ce838fae7c188e6bb09cf16e470b","https://github.com/vyperlang/vyper/security/advisories/GHSA-j2x6-9323-fp7h","https://github.com/vyperlang/vyper/commit/049dbdc647b2ce838fae7c188e6bb09cf16e470b","https://github.com/vyperlang/vyper/security/advisories/GHSA-j2x6-9323-fp7h"],"products":["vyperlang:vyper"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:30:03.577988018+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-24845","score":0.01426,"percentile":0.7296,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j2x6-9323-fp7h","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j2x6-9323-fp7h","summary":"Integer bounds error in Vyper","modified":"2023-11-08T04:08:38.494818Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"vyper","purl":"pkg:pypi/vyper","ranges":["<0.3.2"],"fixed":["0.3.2"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2022-198","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2022-198","summary":"","modified":"2023-11-08T04:08:38.494818Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"vyper","purl":"pkg:pypi/vyper","ranges":["<0.3.2"],"fixed":["0.3.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
