Prior to version 9.7.0, unauthorized JavaScript (JS) can be executed by inserting an iframe into the rich text html interface that links to a file uploaded HTML file that loads another uploaded JS file in its script tag. This satisfies the regular content security policy header, which in turn allows the file to run any arbitrary JS. This issue was resolved in version 9.7.0. As a workaround, disable the live embed in the what-you-see-is-what-you-get by adding `{ \"media_live_embeds\": false }` to the _Options Overrides_ option of the Rich Text HTML interface.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/directus/directus/pull/12020","https://github.com/directus/directus/releases/tag/v9.7.0","https://github.com/directus/directus/security/advisories/GHSA-xmjj-3c76-5w84","https://github.com/directus/directus/pull/12020","https://github.com/directus/directus/releases/tag/v9.7.0"],"products":["rangerstudio:directus"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:29:06.454770966+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-24814","score":0.01034,"percentile":0.6386,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xmjj-3c76-5w84","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xmjj-3c76-5w84","summary":"Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') in directus","modified":"2023-11-08T04:08:37.325340Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"directus","purl":"pkg:npm/directus","ranges":["<9.7.0"],"fixed":["9.7.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
