The versions of Deno between release 1.18.0 and 1.20.2 (inclusive) are vulnerable to an attack where a malicious actor controlling the code executed in a Deno runtime could bypass all permission checks and execute arbitrary shell code. This vulnerability does not affect users of Deno Deploy. The vulnerability has been patched in Deno 1.20.3. There is no workaround. All users are recommended to upgrade to 1.20.3 immediately.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-863","CWE-269"],"references":["https://github.com/denoland/deno/security/advisories/GHSA-838h-jqp6-cf2f","https://github.com/denoland/deno/security/advisories/GHSA-838h-jqp6-cf2f"],"products":["deno:deno"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:29:06.454770966+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-24783","score":0.01147,"percentile":0.66802,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-838h-jqp6-cf2f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-838h-jqp6-cf2f","summary":"Sandbox bypass leading to arbitrary code execution in Deno","modified":"2023-11-08T04:08:36.288044Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"deno","purl":"pkg:cargo/deno","ranges":[">=1.18.0 <1.20.3"],"fixed":["1.20.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
