{"cve":"CVE-2022-24777","nvd":{"published":"2022-03-25T17:15:08.653","modified":"2026-06-17T04:32:29.913","status":"Modified","description":"grpc-swift is the Swift language implementation of gRPC, a remote procedure call (RPC) framework. Prior to version 1.7.2, a grpc-swift server is vulnerable to a denial of service attack via a reachable assertion. This is due to incorrect logic when handling GOAWAY frames. The attack is low-effort: it takes very little resources to construct and send the required sequence of frames. The impact on availability is high as the server will crash, dropping all in flight connections and requests. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2. There are currently no known workarounds.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-617"],"references":["https://github.com/grpc/grpc-swift/commit/858f977f2a51fca2292f384cf7a108dc2e73a3bd","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-swift/security/advisories/GHSA-r6ww-5963-7r95","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-swift/commit/858f977f2a51fca2292f384cf7a108dc2e73a3bd","https://github.com/grpc/grpc-swift/security/advisories/GHSA-r6ww-5963-7r95"],"products":["linuxfoundation:grpc_swift"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:29:06.454770966+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-24777","score":0.01177,"percentile":0.67614,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
