This vulnerability can only be exploited by chaining it with another issue. If an attacker is able to carry out a remote code execution attack, they can gain access to the vulnerable file, due to the presence of insecure functions in code. User interaction is required for exploitation. Exploiting the vulnerability could result in exposure of information, ability to modify files, memory access errors, or system crashes.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":6.7},"cwes":["CWE-787","CWE-121"],"references":["https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2022-23006","https://www.westerndigital.com/support/product-security/wdc-22015-western-digital-my-cloud-home-and-sandisk-ibi-firmware-version-8-10-0-117","https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2022-23006"],"products":["westerndigital:my_cloud_home_duo_firmware","westerndigital:my_cloud_home_firmware","westerndigital:sandisk_ibi_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:36:05.460296998+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-23006","score":0.00311,"percentile":0.24015,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
