This vulnerability is due to improper handling of Cisco Discovery Protocol messages that are processed by the Cisco Discovery Protocol service. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a series of malicious Cisco Discovery Protocol messages to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the Cisco Discovery Protocol service to fail and restart. In rare conditions, repeated failures of the process could occur, which could cause the entire device to restart.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-399"],"references":["https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-cdp-dos-G8DPLWYG","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-cdp-dos-G8DPLWYG"],"products":["cisco:firepower_extensible_operating_system","cisco:nx-os"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:28:04.509275555+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2022-20625","score":0.0326,"percentile":0.88371,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
