Versions of Aim prior to 3.1.0 are vulnerable to a path traversal attack. By manipulating variables that reference files with “dot-dot-slash (../)” sequences and its variations or by using absolute file paths, it may be possible to access arbitrary files and directories stored on file system including application source code or configuration and critical system files. The vulnerability issue is resolved in Aim v3.1.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":8.6},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/aimhubio/aim/blob/0b99c6ca08e0ba7e7011453a2f68033e9b1d1bce/aim/web/api/views.py#L9-L16","https://github.com/aimhubio/aim/issues/999","https://github.com/aimhubio/aim/pull/1003","https://github.com/aimhubio/aim/pull/1003/commits/f01266a1a479ef11d7d6c539e7dd89e9d5639738","https://github.com/aimhubio/aim/security/advisories/GHSA-8phj-f9w2-cjcc"],"products":["aimstack:aim"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:25:41.256909649+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-43775","score":0.01907,"percentile":0.79754,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8phj-f9w2-cjcc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8phj-f9w2-cjcc","summary":"Arbitrary file reading vulnerability in Aim","modified":"2026-07-08T06:28:33.851265807Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aim","purl":"pkg:pypi/aim","ranges":["<3.1.0"],"fixed":["3.1.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2021-839","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2021-839","summary":"","modified":"2023-11-08T04:07:11.569815Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aim","purl":"pkg:pypi/aim","ranges":["<3.1.0"],"fixed":["3.1.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
