{"cve":"CVE-2021-41127","nvd":{"published":"2021-10-21T21:15:08.160","modified":"2026-06-17T04:07:55.577","status":"Modified","description":"Rasa is an open source machine learning framework to automate text-and voice-based conversations. In affected versions a vulnerability exists in the functionality that loads a trained model `tar.gz` file which allows a malicious actor to craft a `model.tar.gz` file which can overwrite or replace bot files in the bot directory. The vulnerability is fixed in Rasa 2.8.10. For users unable to update ensure that users do not upload untrusted model files, and restrict CLI or API endpoint access where a malicious actor could target a deployed Rasa instance.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-23"],"references":["https://github.com/RasaHQ/rasa/commit/1b6b502f52d73b4f8cd1959ce724b8ad0eb33989","https://github.com/RasaHQ/rasa/security/advisories/GHSA-4365-fhm5-qcrx","https://github.com/RasaHQ/rasa/commit/1b6b502f52d73b4f8cd1959ce724b8ad0eb33989","https://github.com/RasaHQ/rasa/security/advisories/GHSA-4365-fhm5-qcrx"],"products":["rasa:rasa"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:24:39.218183596+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-41127","score":0.00758,"percentile":0.55226,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4365-fhm5-qcrx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4365-fhm5-qcrx","summary":"Maliciously Crafted Model Archive Can Lead To Arbitrary File Write","modified":"2026-07-08T06:27:26.694829411Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"rasa","purl":"pkg:pypi/rasa","ranges":["<2.8.10"],"fixed":["2.8.10"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2021-381","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2021-381","summary":"","modified":"2023-11-08T04:06:52.164910Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"rasa","purl":"pkg:pypi/rasa","ranges":["<2.8.10"],"fixed":["2.8.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
