Versions prior to 1.3.1 contain a Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability. Commit number f6066f09edb70033a2ce80200e9fa9e70a5c29de (dated 2021-09-30) contains a patch. There are no available workarounds aside from installing the patch. The SnakeYaml constructor, by default, allows any data to be parsed. To fix the issue the object needs to be created with a `SafeConstructor` object, as seen in the patch.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://github.com/common-workflow-language/cwlviewer/commit/f6066f09edb70033a2ce80200e9fa9e70a5c29de","https://github.com/common-workflow-language/cwlviewer/security/advisories/GHSA-7g7j-f5g3-fqp7","https://www.fatalerrors.org/a/analysis-of-the-snakeyaml-deserialization-in-java-security.html","https://github.com/common-workflow-language/cwlviewer/commit/f6066f09edb70033a2ce80200e9fa9e70a5c29de","https://github.com/common-workflow-language/cwlviewer/security/advisories/GHSA-7g7j-f5g3-fqp7"],"products":["commonwl:cwlviewer"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:23:41.316049955+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-41110","score":0.02814,"percentile":0.86541,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
