Prior to version 4.10.3, Parse Server crashes when if a query request contains an invalid value for the `explain` option. This is due to a bug in the MongoDB Node.js driver which throws an exception that Parse Server cannot catch. There is a patch for this issue in version 4.10.3. No workarounds aside from upgrading are known to exist.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-755","CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/commit/308668c89474223e2448be92d6823b52c1c313ec","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/4.10.3","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-xqp8-w826-hh6x","https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/NODE-3463","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/commit/308668c89474223e2448be92d6823b52c1c313ec"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:21:57.125947417+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-39187","score":0.01819,"percentile":0.78739,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xqp8-w826-hh6x","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xqp8-w826-hh6x","summary":"Parse Server crashes with query parameter","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:08.863775538Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<4.10.3"],"fixed":["4.10.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
