Prior to version 1.1.4, EnroCrypt used the MD5 hashing algorithm in the hashing file. Beginners who are unfamiliar with hashes can face problems as MD5 is considered an insecure hashing algorithm. The vulnerability is patched in v1.1.4 of the product. As a workaround, users can remove the `MD5` hashing function from the file `hashing.py`.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-326","CWE-327","CWE-328","CWE-916"],"references":["https://github.com/Morgan-Phoenix/EnroCrypt/commit/e652d56ac60eadfc26489ab83927af13a9b9d8ce","https://github.com/Morgan-Phoenix/EnroCrypt/security/advisories/GHSA-35m5-8cvj-8783","https://github.com/Morgan-Phoenix/EnroCrypt/commit/e652d56ac60eadfc26489ab83927af13a9b9d8ce","https://github.com/Morgan-Phoenix/EnroCrypt/security/advisories/GHSA-35m5-8cvj-8783"],"products":["enrocrypt_project:enrocrypt"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:24:39.218183596+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-39182","score":0.00562,"percentile":0.46731,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-35m5-8cvj-8783","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-35m5-8cvj-8783","summary":"Improper hashing in enrocrypt","modified":"2026-07-08T06:28:04.810532602Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"enrocrypt","purl":"pkg:pypi/enrocrypt","ranges":["<1.1.4"],"fixed":["1.1.4"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2021-385","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2021-385","summary":"","modified":"2023-11-08T04:06:32.837843Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"enrocrypt","purl":"pkg:pypi/enrocrypt","ranges":["<1.1.4"],"fixed":["1.1.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
