{"cve":"CVE-2021-34646","nvd":{"published":"2021-08-30T19:15:08.750","modified":"2026-06-17T03:56:17.707","status":"Modified","description":"Versions up to, and including, 5.4.3, of the Booster for WooCommerce WordPress plugin are vulnerable to authentication bypass via the process_email_verification function due to a random token generation weakness in the reset_and_mail_activation_link function found in the ~/includes/class-wcj-emails-verification.php file. This allows attackers to impersonate users and trigger an email address verification for arbitrary accounts, including administrative accounts, and automatically be logged in as that user, including any site administrators. This requires the Email Verification module to be active in the plugin and the Login User After Successful Verification setting to be enabled, which it is by default.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-330","CWE-290"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&old=2581212%40woocommerce-jetpack&new=2581212%40woocommerce-jetpack&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=","https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2021/08/critical-authentication-bypass-vulnerability-patched-in-booster-for-woocommerce/","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&old=2581212%40woocommerce-jetpack&new=2581212%40woocommerce-jetpack&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=","https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2021/08/critical-authentication-bypass-vulnerability-patched-in-booster-for-woocommerce/"],"products":["booster:booster_for_woocommerce"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:21:57.125947417+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-34646","score":0.50869,"percentile":0.98926,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
