{"cve":"CVE-2021-32772","nvd":{"published":"2021-08-03T15:15:08.503","modified":"2026-06-17T03:53:35.927","status":"Modified","description":"Poddycast is a podcast app made with Electron. Prior to version 0.8.1, an attacker can create a podcast or episode with malicious characters and execute commands on the client machine. The application does not clean the HTML characters of the podcast information obtained from the Feed, which allows the injection of HTML and JS code (cross-site scripting). Being an application made in electron, cross-site scripting can be scaled to remote code execution, making it possible to execute commands on the machine where the application is running. The vulnerability is patched in Poddycast version 0.8.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/MrChuckomo/poddycast/blob/8d31daa5cee04a389ec35f974959ea3fe4638be9/app/js/favorite.js#L4-L14","https://github.com/MrChuckomo/poddycast/blob/8d31daa5cee04a389ec35f974959ea3fe4638be9/app/js/feed.js#L285","https://github.com/MrChuckomo/poddycast/blob/8d31daa5cee04a389ec35f974959ea3fe4638be9/app/js/helper/helper_entries.js#L80","https://github.com/MrChuckomo/poddycast/security/advisories/GHSA-wjmh-9fj2-rqh6","https://github.com/MrChuckomo/poddycast/blob/8d31daa5cee04a389ec35f974959ea3fe4638be9/app/js/favorite.js#L4-L14"],"products":["electronjs:poddycast"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:21:13.713336758+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-32772","score":0.02391,"percentile":0.83971,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
