Ballerina versions 1.2.x and SL releases up to alpha 3 have a potential for a supply chain attack via MiTM against users. Http connections did not make use of TLS and certificate checking was ignored. The vulnerability allows an attacker to substitute or modify packages retrieved from BC thus allowing to inject malicious code into ballerina executables. This has been patched in Ballerina 1.2.14 and Ballerina SwanLake alpha4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":7.4},"cwes":["CWE-306"],"references":["https://github.com/ballerina-platform/ballerina-lang/commit/4609ffee1744ecd16aac09303b1783bf0a525816","https://github.com/ballerina-platform/ballerina-lang/security/advisories/GHSA-f5qg-fqrw-v5ww","https://github.com/ballerina-platform/ballerina-lang/commit/4609ffee1744ecd16aac09303b1783bf0a525816","https://github.com/ballerina-platform/ballerina-lang/security/advisories/GHSA-f5qg-fqrw-v5ww"],"products":["ballerina:ballerina","ballerina:swan_lake"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:20:07.141963181+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-32700","score":0.00579,"percentile":0.47681,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
