{"cve":"CVE-2021-32678","nvd":{"published":"2021-07-12T13:15:07.923","modified":"2026-06-17T03:53:24.373","status":"Modified","description":"Nextcloud Server is a Nextcloud package that handles data storage. In versions prior to 19.0.13, 20.0.11, and 21.0.3, ratelimits are not applied to OCS API responses. This affects any OCS API controller (`OCSController`) using the `@BruteForceProtection` annotation. Risk depends on the installed applications on the Nextcloud Server, but could range from bypassing authentication ratelimits or spamming other Nextcloud users. The vulnerability is patched in versions 19.0.13, 20.0.11, and 21.0.3. No workarounds aside from upgrading are known to exist.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-307","CWE-799"],"references":["https://github.com/nextcloud/security-advisories/security/advisories/GHSA-48rx-3gmf-g74j","https://github.com/nextcloud/server/pull/27329","https://hackerone.com/reports/1214158","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/BVZS26RDME2DYTKET5AECRIZDFUGR2AZ/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/J63NBVPR2AQCAWRNDOZSGRY5II4WS2CZ/"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","nextcloud:nextcloud_server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:21:13.713336758+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-32678","score":0.01374,"percentile":0.72021,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
