OMERO.web before version 5.9.0 loads various information about the current user such as their id, name and the groups they are in, and these are available on the main webclient pages. This represents an information exposure vulnerability. Some additional information being loaded is not used by the webclient and is being removed in this release. This is fixed in version 5.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-200"],"references":["https://github.com/ome/omero-web/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#590-march-2021","https://github.com/ome/omero-web/commit/952f8e5d28532fbb14fb665982211329d137908c","https://github.com/ome/omero-web/security/advisories/GHSA-gfp2-w5jm-955q","https://pypi.org/project/omero-web/","https://www.openmicroscopy.org/security/advisories/2021-SV1/"],"products":["openmicroscopy:omero.web"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:15:50.279857260+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2021-21376","score":0.01457,"percentile":0.73521,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-gfp2-w5jm-955q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-gfp2-w5jm-955q","summary":"OMERO.web exposes some unnecessary session information in the page","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:02.354810513Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"omero-web","purl":"pkg:pypi/omero-web","ranges":["<5.9.0"],"fixed":["5.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2021-31","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2021-31","summary":"","modified":"2023-11-08T04:04:43.666459Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"omero-web","purl":"pkg:pypi/omero-web","ranges":["<5.9.0"],"fixed":["5.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
