{"cve":"CVE-2020-9057","nvd":{"published":"2022-01-10T14:10:16.150","modified":"2026-06-17T03:27:25.283","status":"Modified","description":"Z-Wave devices based on Silicon Labs 100, 200, and 300 series chipsets do not support encryption, allowing an attacker within radio range to take control of or cause a denial of service to a vulnerable device. An attacker can also capture and replay Z-Wave traffic. Firmware upgrades cannot directly address this vulnerability as it is an issue with the Z-Wave specification for these legacy chipsets. One way to protect against this vulnerability is to use 500 or 700 series chipsets that support Security 2 (S2) encryption. As examples, the Linear WADWAZ-1 version 3.43 and WAPIRZ-1 version 3.43 (with 300 series chipsets) are vulnerable.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-311"],"references":["https://doi.org/10.1109/ACCESS.2021.3138768","https://github.com/CNK2100/VFuzz-public","https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9663293","https://kb.cert.org/vuls/id/142629","https://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/142629"],"products":["linear:wadwaz-1","linear:wapirz-1","silabs:100_series_firmware","silabs:200_series_firmware","silabs:300_series_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:26:33.761856376+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-9057","score":0.00439,"percentile":0.38193,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
