{"cve":"CVE-2020-36724","nvd":{"published":"2023-06-07T02:15:12.487","modified":"2026-06-17T03:16:03.790","status":"Modified","description":"The Wordable plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authentication bypass in versions up to, and including, 3.1.1. This is due to the use of a user supplied hashing algorithm passed to the hash_hmac() function and the use of a loose comparison on the hash which allows an attacker to trick the function into thinking it has a valid hash. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to gain administrator privileges.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-288","CWE-306"],"references":["https://blog.nintechnet.com/wordpress-plugins-and-themes-vulnerabilities-roundup/","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2234193/wordable/trunk/wordable.php","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/be1ab218-37bd-407a-8cb9-66f761849c21?source=cve","https://blog.nintechnet.com/wordpress-plugins-and-themes-vulnerabilities-roundup/","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2234193/wordable/trunk/wordable.php"],"products":["wordable:wordable"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:24.161619714+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-36724","score":0.01543,"percentile":0.74966,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
