Nearly all of the AJAX action endpoints lacked permission checks, allowing these actions to be executed by anyone authenticated on the site. This happened because nonces were used as a means of authorization, but a nonce was present in a publicly viewable page. The greatest impact was the pagelayer_save_content function that allowed pages to be modified and allowed XSS to occur.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L","score":7.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://wpscan.com/vulnerability/10239","https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2020/05/high-severity-vulnerabilities-in-pagelayer-plugin-affect-over-200000-wordpress-sites/","https://wpscan.com/vulnerability/10239","https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2020/05/high-severity-vulnerabilities-in-pagelayer-plugin-affect-over-200000-wordpress-sites/"],"products":["pagelayer:pagelayer"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:12:09.559580076+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-35947","score":0.01103,"percentile":0.65728,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
